What is Hyena Butter?
Hyena Butter is a skin-superfood lotion consisting of pure, unprocessed kokum butter and other natural ingredients that focus on taming even the most problematic of skin types.
It comes in bar form for ease of portability and use - solid at room temperatures, but will melt when applied to skin and absorb without leaving behind any oily or greasy residues.

The Brand
For years I'd been struggling to find a skincare routine that worked for my body chemistry. Most commercial brands included harsh chemicals, and the "natural" skincare products you'd find on the shelves included acne-causing ingredients. Or cost an arm and a leg for a tiny amount of product. That's when I decided enough was enough, and began designing Hyena Butter. I made it a point to choose only non-comedogenic ingredients, and specifically chose materials that you see in big-name natural brands that often overprice their products. You shouldn't have to spend $200 for two ounces of lotion just because it has a tiny amount of special extract in it.

These bars were made ONLY with ingredients that have a comedogenic rating of 2 or less - meaning that I only use ingredients found least likely to cause clogged pores* (also known as acne ☹️)

This bar swaps out summery sweet manuka honey for pure maple syrup! Antioxidant-rich maple syrup has been found to be effective in protecting skin from inflammation, as well as combating dryness and signs of aging. This bar will leave you smelling - and looking - like sugary sweet treat.

Hyena Butter wouldn't be here if not for the generous contributions by my kickstarter backers. In 30 days they managed to not only hit our original goal of $2k, but surpass it more than three times over for a final campaign sum of $6,415. This scrub features ingredients sourced from the hyena's homeland in Africa - from sources that return a portion of their proceeds to the local African communities that provide them
Fair-trade and organic Ethiopian Harrar coffee grounds and unrefined salt ethically (and sustainably) harvested from the Kalahari Desert in South Africa, mixed with jojoba oil to leave your skin smooth and healthy
