You Awaken in a Room With No Exit

A group of strangers find themselves trapped in a room with no doors, the only clue to their capture being a screen that broadcasts a single message:

“One must die each hour until two remain. They will be free.”

Somebody Has to Die is a last-man-standing improvisational card game for 3-7 players. State your case for survival as you gain positive and negative trait cards that affect your chances of winning over the rest of the group.

Are you a millionaire philanthropist who donates to charities worldwide but was convicted for the murder of a 10 year old girl?

Are you an animal rights advocate that talks too loudly on the cellphone in the movie theater?

Fight to be one of the last survivors in a supernatural hostage situation from which there's only one escape: somebody has to die.

Will it be you?

Players are assigned one "virtue" card and one "sin" card each, which they keep face down. On their turn, players introduce themselves by revealing their “virtue” card and stating why they deserve to live based on the revealed trait. They must also reveal their “sin” card; stating how they are guilty of this sin and explaining why they still deserve to live despite of it.

At the end of each round the group must choose one player to “die” who’s out for the rest of the game. The game continues with new cards being passed out that stack with the existing cards from the last round(s). As the game continues it gets harder for players to keep their stories straight, and harder to keep the group on their side as the list of their sins (and virtues) grows.

The game is complete when only two players are left to live with their sins.
